No joke, MI is the only Pixar film I ever saw and 100% thought based on the ending that there was clearly a sequel planned and it was coming in a couple years. Imagine my surprise today, 3 Cars films and one MI prequel later lol.

A real shame that Flik was brutally murdered by Buzz Lightyear back in 1999. Who knows how good that ABL sequel they were making could have been.

DreamWorks would've fast-tracked Antz 2 and put it on the same date just to mess with them again.

Well when Pixar and Disney were looking like they were about to part ways Disney created the studio Circle 7 Animation dedicated solely to making sequels to Pixar films one of which was a Monsters Inc sequel.

Monsters Inc doesn’t need a sequel, as it’s ruin the open-endedness of the ending (which in my opinion is the strongest aspect of the film, really pulls on the heart strings)
