I personally dislike the trope that in order for a women to be “a strong female character” they need to be ‘masculanized’ with stereotypical strongman traits, which in a way is telling women that their only path to be strong and independent is to be more like a stereotypical macho man.

 

Ellen is a good character though, definitely not the best all-time.

You know, I am not even joking but if I am asked to put one image in my head considering Ellen Ripley it is the image below:

 

 

It is not the best Alien film, but in my head this is personally my most iconic Ripley image.
