From what i read, this will be equally polarised. Maybe not by critics which seems to like based on twitter reactions and Letterboxd reviews. But the movie apparently is very ambitious, touch in very deep themes in subversive ways, and can make some people very angry about the way it handled social problems. Also i saw many people saying is not a scary movie, more a creepy one but interested in deeper things. Anyone that has a problem with its 'social problems' clearly is not a true fan of the original lol.

Right? Still i wouldn't be shocked at all. We have "nerds" that hate diversity even if HQ's are extremelly progressives since forever, which sounds absurd but still it happens. Though I do think the second and third acts could have used another 15 minutes.

Also, Escape Room 2 was crap, an extra 10-15 minutes wouldn’t have saved it. Edited August 25, 2021 by SnokesLegs

Krissykins
Two reviews on RT now (As @ThomasNicolealready said, it doesn’t mean they broke embargo, they could’ve been at the BFI screening). One is 4.5/5 and the other is a 9/10.

Krissykins
17 fresh, 1 rotten. Even the rotten one says it’s still worth seeing lol (it’s a 2.5/4). No RT score yet.

No RT score yet. Now 33 reviews, 1 rotten Around 97%, but the site is still bugged. I suspect average will be + 8.0 based on this 33 reviews. 75 on metacritic based on 26 reviews, great
Nikostar
This is crazy how good the reviews are. Why did they drop the embargo so late.
Krissykins
I wonder if RT isn’t updating yet cause they’re doing one of those stupid Twitter videos to reveal the score. 45 now. 44 fresh, 1 rotten. ThomasNicole
Yeah i remember the rumours that test screening for Candyman was bad lol. Now i'm curious for Malignant. This one also have terrible test screenings but James Wan also told is a very different movie than the typical horror he is known for. Let's see if it will be another case of a decent movie that people on test screenings dislike because it's different.

Could be a case of rumors or that James Wan fixed the movie.
