ThomasNicole
Yeah, don´t know what to expect now. They can be hiding the movie because it´s really bad or .. they holding good reviews to drop close to release just to try boost numbers. Maybe @ViewerAnon or @EmpireCity have some clue if the movie is bad or the late embargo could have other reason.

BestPicturePlutoNash
I feel like critics will enjoy but it’ll be overall very divisive. Seems like everyone in this thread heard varying test screening results. I’ve personally heard it’s extremely artful and “slow” and not remotely “scary” at all. I worry some idiots might be annoyed by the heavy political and racial elements which are the point of the Candyman series. This one seemingly includes a lot of police brutality aspects

But still i find it a little weird reviews dropping only 2 days before... But maybe they're expecting late good reviews can boost OW, hoping for it actually. DAJK
I’m expecting solid critic reviews, but very mixed/negative audience scores.

Probably not the Friday night moviegoing crowd who will give the film a D+ cinemascore lol But this kind of artsy highbrow horror certainly has fans with critics and the A24 audience

Krissykins
I wouldn’t worry about reviews for a slasher movie at all. Or the fact that they drop 2 days before release. Edited August 19, 2021 by Krissykins

Probably, even though racial aspects/politics didn't prevent Get Out from becoming a big hit among audiences, so I'm not sure if racial stuff/politics would be a good excuse.
