Funny,a lot of people though a Talking racoon was to silly to work on film before they saw GOTG.

It all depends as how it is handled.

I also think a lot of people here are simply not familiar with the Classic Fantastic four, and base there opinions on the Ultimate Version, which was a huge failure, probabl the Marvel Ulitmate Universe's biggest flop.

Well, it sounds like SDCC is gonna be where they announce the cast....several months after filming begins, possibly after principal photography is complete. Well then being announced at SDCC was always just speculation, but it sounds like in a few weeks we may have set photos anyways.

So are they skipping CCXP after all? With all the turmoil going on in Marvel it makes sense they'd dodge the convention scene for a while. I'm not sure if they'll even bother with Comic-Con next year with Deadpool 3 being the only item of note they have. I can see them holding off on officially confirming the cast until the trailer gets released with Disney's Mufasa next Christmas and just letting the trades break the news and do the dirty work until then. The Black Widow movie was well into filming when they formally announced it, and they didn't even mention Werewolf by Night by a word until a D23 event less than two months beforehand.

.....what? They'll have been shooting multiple movies for months by then. Theyll also have all the Disney+ projects in production, especially the ones releasing in 2024. They're not skipping CCXP because they're like hiding from the public, if they aren't going it's probably just because they want to save stuff for SDCC lol

Please do not make the Silver Surfer a woman and make Sue Storm the focal point of this movie, and certainly do not force a sexual relationship between Sue Storm and a female Silver Surfer. 

 

If the cast news comes out and they've made Silver Surfer a woman, it's going to cause a lot of backlash. There is only one Silver Surfer, so you have to introduce him as the first in the MCU and not some alternate version just to force an agenda.

I saw the original was on Disney+ and decided to leave it on in the background while I worked on a thing, and while I still enjoy it in a cheesy 2000s way...boy do I now see why they might look back and decide "Hey maybe Sue should take point in the next one" considering the "gag" in both of Sue losing her clothes in public. That and her being sidelined in the 2015 one (I will never. Ever. Forgive the decision to not let Sue go on the mission.), I can see why they might want Sue to be more prominent this time around.

 

oh and Doom. How is it so hard to just make him an asshole who hates Reed who is also a dictator?

Interesting...a Super 8 look would fit with the rumored time period. And Shakman did say something a while back about this being shot differently than any other Marvel film, and that'd definitely do it. I have no earthly idea how it'd look though.

They're not shooting a blockbuster in 18fps lol. They didn't even do that in the 60s and super8 has the capability to shoot at 24fps.

It doesn't sound like that was ever a thing, just that was a guess since Chronicle was.

 

It's a weird rumor, but the source is extremely credible. Maybe it'll just be a portion of the film and not the whole thing,
