Hmm. Looks like I need to make adjustments. A direct comparison to TS4 2nd weekend suggests $78m for TLK. Incredibles 2 suggests $74m and FFH suggests $76m.

Looking at my theater directly, last Friday was at 1935 tickets sold at 9am. As of right now, we’re at 361 sold for today. Now, this would suggest a sub $15m Friday 😅

Luckily for us, today should be quite a bit heavier in terms of walkup/PS ratio than last Friday, so it should still be north of $20m but south of $25m.

That Crawl drop is strong! Compared to some of the others. Only losing 450 theatres in week 3 must mean they’re pretty happy with it, nice.

Slightly bigger drop than expected for Lion King, especially with no direct competition opening.

Not as bad as last Thursday obviously, with TLK’s huge previews.

At this point, with that Thursday number, I would not be surprised by TLK going low 70's this weekend...the Atom deal and the Disney rush and the lack of needed rewatch factor might all come into play this weekend...aka it wouldn't be the 1st movie after a huge Atom deal to have an irregularly large 2nd weekend drop...

PS - Regal is offering a large points deal for TLK this weekend, so someone is trying to stem the "deal" drop:)...

The Lion King is playing like a film released around Christmas time. It’s numbers are really good!  Anything over $80 million 2nd weekend would be amazing! But I’m here for Hollywood’s preview number.
