Solid for LK given the low Thursday. Will be good for it to get to 80m so expecting it to be much closer to 75m.

That number for Hollywood points to 40m being the top unless it behaves oddly for the summer.

Solid for holdovers all things considered as well.

Shouldn't Lion King 1994 be the one in the picture below and Lion King 2019 be the one in the picture above? 👀

Cinemascores tend to be harsher on R rated movies. So that B score is pretty normal

Yes, because adults don't just enjoy everything they experience, unlike kids (and indeed, fully grown manchildren) watching a PG-13 funnybook movie

We need to wait for real, original films like Todd Phillips' Joker to save cinema now. Being that it's not based on any comics and all.

No it's just a remake of superior films with the Joker as the lead. Cute attempt at sarcasm though.

If Hobbs and Shaw really bombs it seems like this movie has a lot of room to run

why would hobbs and shaw bomb? Is it tracking badly? I thought expectations were high. certainly looks busy at my local cinema for opening night.

Somewhat larger than expected drop for The Lion King but it's still on track for one of the biggest second weekend grosses ever.

Tarantino fans clearly led to a frontloaded start for Hollywood but I think it'll hold up well today and tomorrow with its long running time and older audience appeal.

The Farewell enters the top 10 in just 135 theaters, nice.

It's not like most horror films, more like a thriller.

MIDSOMMAR though, now that is a horror film you should watch.

Its not really a horror film though, more like a horror-themed dark satire.
