JCS
Can't wait to see Skyfall's weekend gross. It is certainly blowing TA out of the water in the UK...!Skyfall looking locked to at least match DH2 and TS3 in £ (which is all we care about, not $ with fluctuating exchange rates) and possible overtake them in the chart. Will definitely reach Top 5!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_films_in_the_United_Kingdom
The Dark Alfred
Matinees were stronger than yesterday, evening looks as busy as last week, we'll see how the late shows will perform.
Heretic
Sounds great! Hopefully it hits £6m.

peludo
Can it get to #2 of all time in £?That is what Heretic started to say last night. It could reach £80m, WITHOUT 3D
Heretic
I think its locked for at least £75m right now.
peludo
Do you think this could have the same run from this point than, for instance, TDKR or Avengers? Both OW were very similar to what it seems it will be Skyfall's second weekend. Let's say it does not make another 80-90 million $ as TA or TDKR did, but another 70 should be easier from 8th day. I know competition will grow next weeks, but legs should not be worse than for those movies. In that case, it would be headed to 130 million $ (£81.25m). And I insist, it would have worse legs than Avengers or TDKR. I have fear while I am writing this
Heretic
For sure. I don't even think £80m is the highest it can go...

peludo
Does the 80m figure for Titanic include re-release?If BOM Titanic's 1998 number is correct (114 mllion $) and having into account 1£=1.65$ in average during first half of 1998 that would give about 70 million £. And 80 million £ is correct if you add the 16 million $ (about 10 million £) that BOM gives to re-release. So it seems Titanic's original run is 70 million £. The Dark Alfred
Just got an email saying that there are only a couple of cinemas in the country where DH2's daily record still stands. Daily and weekend record are broken nearly everywhere.Judging by the eveing business of my cinema, I'd say Saturday will be up from Friday from sure. Between 5 and 10%.

Anything is possible with Skyfall.I think its locked for at least £75m right now.I would say so, £70M is 100% locked at least.Does the 80m figure for Titanic include re-release?Yes, pretty sure that chart includes re-release grosses.Just got an email saying that there are only a couple of cinemas in the country where DH2's daily record still stands. SchumacherFTW
And yet my mate claimed bullshit earlier when I said he had no chance of getting a ticket as all shows were sold out. I then got an angry text half an hour later saying that I was right. Hehe.
PhilipJ2001
amazingly we are up today on last saturday thanks to (even) stronger matinee business and more evening sellouts :)next weekend for the first time ever (i think) we are going to play the same film in both of our two screens at the same time to keep up with demand. The Dark Alfred
Late shows were insane again! It's definitely doing better than Friday. I'd say 10% increase is a lock, looking at 12-13% judging by my cinema. We're an IMAX site, so that should be pretty accurate.
riczhang
Down less than 20% for Saturday. Amazing.

That's awesome. I really can't fathom what's clicked so much this time for Bond to have such a huge impact. I get that we have the 50th anniversary, and the franchise is no stranger to strong reviews (Casino Royale did just as well in that respect if I remember rightly). This seems like one of those times where it all just works, like Avatar or Titanic to an extent.
