Folks, it's not getting a sequel, lmao. It's in the DCEU. If/when there is another Blue Beetle film, it will be in the DCU and will not connect with this film.

Looking at tracking its very unlikely it will get sequel

...that was my point, there will not be a sequel plunge because there will be no sequel

I guess I did word it in too contentious a manner but it was just a joke, guys, chillax.

This movie is made for a late review bump/great walk-ups, I would pump the brakes on fully trusting tracking on this one (or even better, acknowledging tracking while understanding the context behind it)

Which will make it super confusing if they keep the same actor.

Not really, they don't have anyone from the DCEU films in it so they can easily transport Jamie Reyes to the new DCU without any issues. Judi Dench reprised M in the Daniel Craig Bond films so it's possible.

Wait am I tripping or didn't Gunn say this was the first movie of his universe?

Gunn has stated that this Blue Beetle character, as portrayed by Xolo, will be in the DCU. He has never acknowledged that the film is in the DCU.

The reviews aren't good enough for a big late jump to get this to sequel territory. It seems the movies fine, has its moments but is still ultimately just another CBM...which audiences have far less patience for now. Needed to be truly unique and special to pierce the low interest.

Eh, if it stays in the high 80s through Friday, I'd say it has a very good chance of helping sales. People read blurbs and headlines and see the high score. They don't read full reviews, look at the average score, etc.

It's all very simple. I'm not sure why so many people are struggling with understanding the DCU. The Suicide Squad characters are all IN but their shows and movies are OUT. Blue Beetle the movie is OUT but Blue Beetle the character is IN. Robert Pattinson is still Batman but not the DCU Batman who will be some other dude. Gal Gadot is OUT unless she's standing in the room with us in which case we pretend she's IN! Jason Mamoa is IN but...I guess as a different lesser known character? Anyway...this will all be explained in the pamphlet they hand out when you go see Superman Legacy. Just please, if you see Gal Gadot, have the decency to hide your pamphlet under your seat so she doesn't see.

Why? I'm not stating anything particularly weird here, 6.7 off 87% is an extremely low ratio (fwiw flash had 6.3 off 64%!!) which pretty much means lots of bare passes, very little raving in there

Well it's 6.9 with 87% now with 53 reviews so at least the average is going in the right direction
