Spiderman : No Way Home - Box office thread

Recommended Posts

Since I'm at the end of the quarantine and I have absolutely nothing to do, and someone might even be interested, I wanted to compare the data of No Way Home in the main European countries to other movies

Gross increase (in dollars) over Far From Home

UK - from 49M to 112M (+130%)

FRA - from 26M to 58M (+120%)

GER - from 19M to 40M (+110%)

SPA - from 15M to 28M (+90%)

ITA - from 13M to 26M (+100%)

RUS - from 22M to 45M (+100%)

Total in the "Big Six" - 144M vs 309M

Gross compared to Endgame

UK - 115M vs 112M

FRA - 62M vs 58M

GER - 63M vs 40M

SPA - 32M vs 28M

ITA - 34M vs 26M

RUS - 46M vs 45M

Total in the Big Six - 352M vs 309M (at the end of its run No Way Home will probably be at 330M)

Tickets sold compared to the first Spider-Man

UK - 6.3M vs 11.8M

FRA - 6.3M vs 6.4M

GER - 5.2M vs 3.5M

SPA - 5.2M vs 3.8M

ITA - 4M vs 3M

RUS - unknown vs 10.1M

In France it sold 6.3M tickets (Lumiere (coe.int)), and I think it passed the 70M in Usa after the re-release of a few months later

Relative to France, with the 2 sources I use, NWH still has not overcome SM1, but it is close:

According jpbox-office.com, Spider-man 1 sold 6,459,120 admissions in France

According insidekino.de, SM1 sold 6,477,438 admissions

NWH will exceed 6.8M admissions in France, no problem it will be the biggest spiderman movie here, with good chances for AEG and 7M admissions (no competition and holidays in just over 3 weeks )

Spain 5th weekend: €841,264 (-44%)

Cume: €24,489,334 (#26 all time)

IMO, €26m is close to be locked and with good holds it could try €26.5m. That would mean to rank #20 all time unadjusted.

Proportionally, and comparing NWH in Spain and DOM, €0.5m for NWH in Spain equates to $14m DOM. It is a big jump. First of all, let's wait to see if it is able to reach €26.5m, something that is still far from being locked.
