Yeah, ain't nothing within 50 miles of me, either.  Literally the closest one is about 70 miles away.  I'll keep an eye on things and see if anything closer to me gets added or not.

I think these midnights will be sub 1 million anyway tbh and not particularly worth tracking, it's on a school night for a kids/family movie, the release is limited, and FFH itself only did 3 million.

This is going completely opposite of what should be happening. It should be picking up steam, not slowing down. Let's see how things go once review embargo lifts on Wednesday.

Did not realize Mario was having midnights. The last time I remember tracking those was probably FFH?

That explains that rando 12am showing I saw in Pleasant Hill when I was scanning for showtimes this morning.

...

Hmmmm.....

Might have to check it out.

(yes, last one of note was FFH)

As of now, my source has 79 midnight shows.  Mostly MTC 2 and Harkins so far

Even MCU movies release embargo 3 days out from release, why is Shazam 2 embargo dropping only 1 day out?

That sounds bad. it only had few bloggers giving good reactions on twitter and then hold back on reviews until late. Not that its going to help with putrid presales. Holdovers will have good time for  weeks in a row.

Scream 6 MTC1

Fan shows -11516/26812 203601.29 232 shows

Previews - 90938/320367 1433308.50 1965 shows

Friday - 82777/666363 1312744.65

~ 5.5m ish previews. Walkups were meh today. Thinking OW wont hit 40m at this rate. Especially if Friday including previews dont hit 15m. I hope I am wrong and it has much better walkups tomorrow.

Mario MTC1 Wednesday - 16588/694022 293093.00 3410 shows

I take my earlier comment back. Its definitely not bad at all. I guess the trailer release did amp up the sales. I dont have MTC2 data as well but release is already uber wide (4894 shows)

Ok so that's worth looking for.

Do you know if this was a last minute decision or not?  I only ask coz as I scan my locals, I don't see any local midnights even though Mario is now live.

I only learned about them happening a day or two ago, so perhaps. It was surely more a decision made by the theaters than Universal, I don't think the latter expected these midnight shows to be a significant thing for something that leans more toward families.

Not every theater will participate. As mentioned by others, it will likely be theaters in major markets and college towns that will be doing this, as it could be challenging to get staffing together for hours that late at locations that are more rural than urban/suburban.

Additionally, some theaters could still be on the fence on if it's worth running or not. If presales look good, it's possible more midnight shows show up.
