The Woman King Harkins at 7:30 PM.

FRI - 6484/69314 (235 showings) $69,256

Expecting 7.7-7.9K final. That would normally be $5-5.25M but if it underindex as much as THU, then high 5s.

Pretty solid number for The Woman King.

Also, from perusing the AMC Theatres app tonight, I'm seeing lots of very full showings for Barbarian around the country (even a few sellouts). I wouldn't be surprised by a fairly low drop for this one this weekend.

So the Friday total number (which would include Thursday previews) could be as much as $9-10 million? That would be excellent for The Woman King and a big surprise. Nice to see a movie not based on existing IP break out big with adult audiences.

No.

7.7-7.9K is ticket sales. His estimation for true Friday is "high 5s" which would put it around $7.5M including Thursday.

Thanks for clarifying - I misread it the first time. Still a solid number regardless.

At 9:30 PM, 7107/69314 (235 showings) $76,531

Probably add another 100 or so. Not as high as expected. Probably $4.75-5M ish. If it underindex as much as THU, then $5.5M.

Good shout, just booked this. It's 140 minutes and rated R, which narrows it down quite a bit. Thinking and hoping that it is indeed Amsterdam.

If it is, kinda weird that they skipped all the festivals but are releasing as an untitled $5 film at Regal lol.

If it's like the one they did in the UK last week, you're getting Hatching there. R rating and length are placeholders.

The Woman King Harkins

FRI - 7258/69314 (235 showings) $78,321

Expecting $4.75-5M. On absolute high end $5.6M.

SAT pre-sales are good. Around +25% FRI. Can expect +30% or so for SAT. ~$17.5-19M weekend.

shocked oh my GIF

Maybe just throw in some MCU titles just to lower the average

Yeah, this is blowing up in every market I usually check. Did notice that tickets are heavily confined to the 6/7 - 8/9p time slots, which often suggests a younger, more female skewing audience. Maybe include Downton as a comp, not that its a great fit, but more to set a lower bound for high pre-sales/lower walk-up rate, since the ceiling ... is apparently very high

Is DWD going to A Star is Born range?

He didn't track DA till T-3 but yeah could be a good comp. I suppose by T-3 DA 2 comp will be around $3-3.5M.

Honestly, I'm seeing a lot of people saying they want to see DWD because of Pugh, not necessarily because of Styles. I genuinely think this movie, and everything surrounding it, is going to solidify her ascent to the top of the A-list.

I can't imagine that it would, because while ASIB was critically acclaimed and a great movie, DWD, is by most accounts, terrible. I mean, at some point quality matters, right?

Plus, it would sully my user name.
