I think it's probably going to have weaker legs after it's OW, but it should still be pretty big.

D&D Early Shows Mar 19

Thinking about 800-900K from just the shows today. It was just standard format and shows were early and so ticket prices were low. But it will hopefully help bring in bigger crowd during OW.

it has everything going for it. Great hype, solid start to presales and open run until Guardians which is month later. Only question is the reception. If it can have great reception, it will be in pole position to win the year domestic and may be even WW if overseas audience are as excited by this movie. 

 

I definitely think 130/450m run is not outrageous.

I went back in this thread just to verify when DSMoM went on sale (note, it was the standard 30 days). We should see the same for GOTG3, but it lands on the same day as Mario's debut, so, maybe they shift it a day or two.

 

But what really jumps out was just how intense sales were on debut. We'll likely get a good sign very quickly if there's any reduced enthusiasm for the Marvel brand once GOTG3 does go on sale.
