What mess is this FOX? Set after Prometheus 2? What in the fuck... I have read in several places that is a sequel... I understand nothing.

A good sign that the production bosses are having disagreements about how to continue the series.

But you could do a classic Alien movie..straight up horror without the Prometheus baggage...in a post Prometheus universe.

Disappointing, but not unexpected at this point.  Scott clearly had some hand in burying this himself with his influence...but Chappie's relative failure surely didn't help Blomkamp's case...  Too bad, sounded like Weaver was really up for it... Her appearance on Colbert proved she's still passionate about it and can send it up, as well.

But Ridley could have worded it a little more nicely, like... "Neil had some great ideas, but we ultimately decided to go another way."  He's such a sourpuss.

Blomkamp does seem to be pretty much a "One Hit Wonder" as a director at this point.

Your screams in space will be heard if Fede Alvarez has anything to say about it.

The filmmaker behind Don’t Breathe, and 2013’s remake of Evil Dead has been tapped to write and direct an original standalone Alien feature for 20th Century Studios.

Ridley Scott, who directed the original sci-fi horror movie released in 1979 and returned for two 21st century installments, will produce via his Scott Free banner. The project is intended to be made for Hulu as part of 20th Century’s ambitions to make more than 10 movies a year for the Disney-owned streaming service.

Not even Alien gets a theatrical release? Jesus Christ, theaters are truly dead. Only Avatar, Free Guy and Planet of the Apes from FOX then.
