Do we know how many schools are on spring break this week compared to the coming weeks?

If relevant, Deadline will frequently post those numbers when they're previewing an upcoming weekend. I can tell you that here in Salt Lake City, college kids were out last week, and Salt Lake I.S.D. is out next week. Business as usual this week.

I remember them doing that in the past, I just didn't know if they had offered anything in their reports going into this week, considering it's something that would affect dailies.

But yeah, anecdotally, the school I work at doesn't have break until the week of April 11th (as is the case for Chicago public schools I believe), and my younger siblings in grade school and high school have it the week of March 28th. I'm curious to find out what the "norm" is this year.

I think that's highly regional.  Where I am the universities are all on spring break, but the actual schools won't go on Spring Break until the week before or the week after Easter.  And Easter is late this year - April 17th.

It’s gonna be annoying if this prevents the movie from hitting $400 million domestic.

it's leaving theaters?

coz if it doesn't i don't see the huge issue

Most of Texas is out over the next couple of weeks. Easter is so late that southern schools will in general be done before April.

We have Spring Break during Easter week and then the school year ends on May 12! Our calendar is wacky this year.

These numbers are pretty impressive jump for almost all movies. Should we expect such increase from last week for the remaining days also?

Or is it only going to be for Monday?

Mon-Th will see similar vertical jumps because it is a high break % weekday vs a low break % weekday. Fri is sort of a half weekend half weekday, so it will also be boosted vertically, but less. And muted horizontally because you’re dividing a half boost day by a full boost Th. Sat will also see a muted jump from the previous day but will be normal or slightly depressed vs last Sat (this is all before considering different weather/competition ).

1. Titanic - 17.17M

2. Crocodile Dundee - 5.86M

3. Home Alone - 5.5M??

4. E. T. The Extra Terrestrial - 4.59M

5. Beverly Hills Cop - 4.43M

6. As Good As It Gets - 4.30M

7. Dances With Wolves - 4.23M

8. Ghost - 4.22M

9. Avatar - 4.03M

10. Forrest Gump - 3.95M

11. Aladdin - 3.88M

12. Ghostbusters - 3.67M

13. Frozen - 3.63M

15. Back to the Future - 3.38M

After spending a loooong time in the top 10 Aladdin and Frozen are now out. No Way Home doesn't really have a chance at top 10. Best case scenario is like top 15.
