This is not exactly true. If it drops 30% for the next 3 weeks just, it will be beyond $2.2b already. It's going to drop pretty hard this week, though, considering it still was holiday in many markets this week.

Incredible weekend for Avatar 2 worldwide. Since you're all here and liked my earlier tracking post, I decided to also track our Sunday showings for Avatar 2. Again, the mall theater (the one with the more horizontal seatings) closes off online ticketing 30 minutes before the showing begins because of being connected to a shared ticketing website, so that is a limiting factor. The chain theater (the one with the more vertical seatings) has its own ticketing system.

Today might've been even better than yesterday, save for the 1 PM and 8 PM showings at the mall theater. I find it funny the 8 PM showing for the mall theater tanked while the equivalent showing at the chain theater did great. Some of its screens at the chain theater were taken away today, likely to accomodate demand for a big local kids' film which opened this Friday, but it still did great with the ones it still had. Now, to wait for the admission numbers tomorrow evening.

Funnily enough, if whole of Italy matched my area this film would probably crack A1's skull. Shit's still selling out every show it's given. Your pics are definitely reminiscent of what I'm seeing too.
