interiorgatordecorator
dont really know much about the 3d situation, will there be enough 3d equipment for avatar and antman to share?
keysersoze123
All Digital screens are 3D capable. So there wont be shortage of 3d screens. But Avatar will lose almost all PLF. So there will be an impact. Let us wait and see.

Mulder
Think with Avatar we also have to realize its been in theaters for almost 2 months at this point. Its burned off a lot of its demand.

CJohn
So its like a 4 way to the top with 80 for Brady, Magic Mike, Titanic and Avatar all looking at a ~8M weekend number or so.

Let's all predict the order. Thinking: 1. Magic Mike 2. Titanic 3. 80 for Brady 4. Avatar But wouldn't be surprised to be totally wrong.

Has to be a specific type of digital projector - either dual lens or high frame rate - in order to be able to display two distinct images (right & left eye) for 3D effect There’s typically 2-4 screens per location (including PLF)

I thought AMC did upgrade most of their theaters to Laser projection which should be 3D capable. But it seems WIP at this point. There is this data.It says 14706 screens having 3D projection capabilities by end of 2021. It could have gone down a bit since then but still there is no shortage unlike 2010 when there were very limited 3d screens and release of Alice impacted Avatar big time.

Hiccup23
I'm greedy but wish A2 would have just hit $1M 😝 Great numbers but kind of worried we are gonna see a big Wednesday fall.
