Thursday update on Beetlejuice Beetlejuice open caption presales. More screen times have been added, primarily at "good" times for open caption screenings. Almost none of the screentimes are prime times, but most of the saturday/sunday screenings are at decent times. However, the ticket to screentime ratio is still low (612 tickets, 157 screentimes).

I would 100% not be surprised at all if that happens. 

 

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 isn't just guaranteed to pass $200M domestically, but potentially make even more than that. I'm sorry but December 20th is the perfect release date for that movie. It'll play greatly throughout the holiday season and going into 2025 where it has about another month of no competition until late January/early February. 

 

I'm not saying over $1B, but anything between $500M-$600M worldwide is definitely possible.

People forgot that the second did not really make all that much more than the first. Which came out right before Covid.

I don't deny that Mufasa is probably gonna be the bigger movie (it'll absolutely make more overseas), but I also think you're underestimating Sonic 3 a bit. It may not be four-quadrant, but it doesn't have to be. 

 

I'm not expecting it to break records, it's exactly the kind of movie that can do fantastic business throughout December and going into January. 

 

Also, even before the trailer came out last week, I predicted this might happen (nothing to do with the Quorum update). I could be wrong, but everything is just pointing towards this being the biggest hit of the franchise.

Funnily enough the very opposite happened with DPW. OW was looking like $160-170M ish for some time before exploding to $210M+
