Yeah I noticed it was a slower day across the piece, hopefully a bit of a bounce back when I look at the numbers in a few hours.

 

No problem, would love to post these daily which I can normally but just had a bit of a hectic week personally. Anyway, here you go:

 

Barbie T-8: 0.297x = $6.59m

Barbie T-7: 0.290x = $6.43m

Barbie T-6: 0.278x = $6.18m

Barbie T-5: 0.271x = $6.01m

 

It needs 120 tickets today (10%+ growth) to hold that $6m line.

Trolls looks (at least to me) to be in the ~$2M range for Thursday based on all the comps (plus the 750K-$1M for EA last Sat).  But what about the IM?

 

There's a big gap between the more mature or summer films like Ghostbusters Afterlife, Sonic 2, Elemental and Super Pets at around 10-12x, and then the far less brand heavy non-summer Friday openers like Bad Guys and Lyle Crocodile at ~20x (Paw Patrol didn't even have previews, at least in US).  Pretty much every other notable animated movie post-pandemic was a Wednesday release (TMNT, Mario, Puss, Strange World, Sing 2, & Encanto!)

 

So split the difference, like 16x, or lean one way or the other? Seems to be in good shape for ~$30M OW though

Feel like Trolls skews younger than the more mature family films but older than Bad Guys/Paw Patrol/Lyle but still isn’t as frontloaded as other sequels. Feel somewhere from 15x-20x minus EA seems about right if we use EA as a baseline. So like 30-40m OW imho.

Tues is still weaker in this region but I expect a good jump once Trolls is out the way. Positively it has overtaken Trolls (Thu) so is probably relatively on par with the ATP diff.

 

Spot check of Wednesday was 125 tickets sold so 147% of Tues (previously 52 sold and 92.8%).

Just didn't have time to properly look at this till now.

 

TMNT comp is looking a bit too good because of burnt off demand with EA/sneaks as others have said, same with MI7 but to a lesser extent.

 

I am expecting this to end up similar to Creator, it has started slightly better but with Tues release the lower ATP will negate that advantage.

I did forget that Sonic had EA (too many these days!), but generally I include Tue/Wed EA as part of the preview number, until you get into the bigger openings like TGM and Batman where the added day of PLF shows/capacity can juice the total preview

I add FB3 to have a better comparaison because i think the comp of The Marvels could a too big under estimate. If I take The Marvels , the OW is around 40M even Low 30's. If i take FB3 , it's rather around 50M but the comp will fall so i think the range of 40-45M could stay
