My 2 buddies saw it and both said they liked it more than Skyfall, so thats enough for me. Excited to do my Craig Marathon this week.

Also both IMAX shows at Universal City Walk are sold out. I was surprised when I couldn't get tickets. thats 1,000 tickets at 21 bucks a pop right there.

Good. I am sure the snobby critics aren't impressed that it makes so many nods to previous Bond movies. I have read several of those kind of reviews, and many on this forum think that it must be doomed. However, what matters is whether the audience enjoy it, not the critics.

Not at all surprised by the reviews-its like TDKR-had this been before Skyfall its RT score be higher, but after the last one critics just get too high of expectations-same with people.
Either way I'm expecting a great film.

http://deadline.com/2015/11/spectre-second-best-james-bond-opening-peanuts-movie-weekend-box-office-preview-1201604894/

Spectrethe 24th James Bondtitle from Sony/MGM/Eon, is on set to pull in $70 million-$75 million per industry estimates at a current theater count of 3,927 — the widest ever for 007. That would make it the second-biggest opening stateside for the franchise after Skyfall, which posted records all around with the best debut of all time ($88.4M), best domestic haul ($304.4M) and best global take ($1.1B). Sony is being more cautious, citing grosses in the mid-$60M range, closer to Quantum Of Solace‘s $67.5M, but the town truly believes it will land much higher.

Previews kick off in 3,000-plus venues on Thursday at 7 PM, with Spectre backed by such exhib gadgets as 373 Imax hubs and 400-plus PLF screens. Spectre will own all those large-screen engagements until Katniss arrives for her final bow with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 on November 20.

Rival distrib chiefs attribute the lower sequel opening stateside for Spectre to sequelitis, which can haunt these tentpoles when so much anticipation is placed upon them (read Avengers: Age Of Ultron coming up with a $191.3M opening, just short of its predecessor Avengers’ then-all time opening record of $207.4M before Jurassic World stomped on that figure). But also slowing Spectre per a non-Sony distribution executive are reviews: the pic carries a 66% fresh which is in sync with Quantum Of Solace‘s rating, compared to Skyfall‘s 93% certified fresh and Casino Royale‘s 95% fresh.

Tracking in the last 3 weeks has gone down from $80-85, to $75-80 and now $70-75.  Not a good trend

QOD opening adjusts for $78.4m.  DAD for $67.6m which would be the Sony lowball estimate for Spectre

High expectations have nothing to do with it. There are far more cases of movies getting an easy time from critics because they loved the previous movies than that.

Matrix Reloaded and The Phantom Menace say hello. B)

As for Spectre paying homage, there comes a point where all the winking and nodding becomes a lazy rehash.  I love the old movies but I don't want or need to their scenes recreated and referenced over and over especially when it's not a referenced memory for the character because he exists in a new continuity.

Ehhh Idk for this Craig series, I like the idea of taking winks and nods to the old ones now. Im 22 and I don't know a SINGLE person other than me who has seen every Bond. Shit I know plenty of people who have only seen the Craig. I still haven't seen the film so idk what I'm really talking about haha but the concept of that sounds fine and excites me to be honest.
