Will 'Spectre' Top 'Skyfall' at the U.K. Box Office?

"In the U.S., MKM Partners analyst Eric Handler tells THR that Spectre is looking at an opening “similar to Skyfall,” around the $85 million to $90 million mark (Skyfall bowed with $88.4 million), for a total haul, according to FBR Research's Barton Crockett, of around $295 million (Skyfallgrossed $304.4 million), making it the eighth biggest title this year."

Just saw it. Starts off fun but the middle is a drag and the the climax is pretty generic. Lea Seydoux and Bond's relationship is underdeveloped to the point where I felt the movie coulda done without any romantic connection between the 2. The villain was just 'meh'. 

It's essentially AOU with a Bond skin.

I wonder if Spectre will get a 25% drop DOM  like AOU.

Sam Mendes’ sophomore outing at the helm of a 007 pic hit a jackpot at the UK box office in its opening previews last night. Spectre loomed large with $6.4Min 647 locations after starting showings at 8:15PM local, just a quarter of an hour after the world premiere began at London’s Royal Albert Hall. That didn’t beat Skyfall‘s opening day in local currency (£4.1M for Spectre, £6.2M forSkyfall), but that 2012 film saw its first shows on a full Friday. Spectre had about two screenings per location yesterday.

Rival distributors have been predicting that Spectre will have an overall take in the range of £35M ($54M) after the first full Monday through Sunday.

CRAZY good. Today could top Skyfall's OD. $60m first week doesn't seem totally out of reach.
