If Nolan didn't make Inception we probably wouldn't even be debating the idea if the ending's a dream. It's congruous with nothing in the film or entire trilogy. If Bruce was dead then who left Gordon the shiny new bat signal? Why did we need that scene? Or why were we constantly reminded about the autopilot function in the Bat and then told at the last minute that Bruce fixed it?

The ending of Inception is me using my imagination and putting the pieces together and figuring out how both theoretical endings to the story (dream vs. reality) could exist. And Nolan's master stroke in that film is that they both work beautifully and the question makes sense thematically as well (real or not, Cobb is finally home). You can like or dislike TDKR all you want but it's not open-ended whatsoever.

TS3 does not have stupid plot holes and stupid plot contrivances which plagued TDKR's writing. TS3 ending and incinerator scene are more emotionally resonant than Nolan's whole filmography which is not hard because Nolan handles emotional connection like an iceberg drifting all alone in Antarctica. Bruce and Rachel "love story" is so devoid of any genuine convincing and believable chemistry, it's painful to watch.

It's Razzie territory. That old man's accent is hilarious beating your head with Batman Begins mantra all over again with a sledgehammer "The feeeeeaarrr Of Deeeth". And those prisoners cheerleading Bruce. I couldn't stop laughing.  Oh yeah, that so called "Hell hole on Earth" was Holiday Inn with electricity, HD TV, magical physiotherapist that heals broken spine with a simple rope for grown men with climbing activity as part of the package deal so you can escape any time you want through the unguarded and free exit. (Writing this, I still can't fathom how laughable it is).

Agreed, the only films in that ten-figure club that are on par or better are TDK, Skyfall, ROTK and... nope, that's it.

Well its hard to say because Titanic is definitely a contender but you can't exactly compare any superhero movie to titanic seeing as they are both completely different movies.

This over any scene in the Toy Story series as far as raw emotion goes.

Out of all the scenes in TDKR and this is what you found the most emotional? The Alfred scenes were far more emotional than watching someone climb out of a pit. Beside that scene was just ridiculously stupid and goes against the laws of physics. On his first 2 attempts he takes a run up and still can't reach the rock to climb out, but they take away his rope and he manages to jump further without a run-up at all? That is just physically impossible.

And for that matter, how does a kid manage to make the leap when hundreds of grown men can't?
