Good for Perks. WOM has been spectacular (a teen film that has a 7.9 on IMDB). Twitter reactions are phenomenal.The majority are saying it's one of the best teen films ever made. A huge amount of comparisons to John Hughes, but Perks is much darker.

I'm surprised HT has opened so well considering the mixed reviews, I imagine it should do over $100m in total, not sure how it'll fare overseas as it faces Frankenweenie and in some markets Madagascar but I think if it can do $150-200m then it'll be a success for Sony and SPA, Smurfs numbers are unlikely but it'll be their most successful all animated film.

I think it's possible given that Cloudy's getting a sequel and if it can break $100m DOM but I imagine it won't be release until 2015 or 2016 and probably will have a new director as Genndy's doing Popeye for Sony.

This is the weekend that Wrath of Titans gets taken down by Stallone and crew.

I think the WOM for Looper will pick up during the weekend and it will do about $23m. Also, next weekend it will drop very small to about $15m. I can see this having a good run.

I never understood why people were so sure HT would be a flop. It's a friggin' animated movie from a major studio, of course it was going to do big business.

The WOM for Looperamong its target demo seems exceptional. Sub-40% drop is almost assured.
