not used to BOM only presenting a small part of the chart either early or ... anymore, it seems today to be stuck for a while now

For Sing's to last week comparison

IMAX re-release please.

I would say that if RO makes 550m total or less, TDK could pass it again with a rerelase next year. However, regardless of that, I'm just glad we'll finally get another movie in the 500-600m DOM range. TDK was there alone for over 8 years.

I don't care about the box office side of it, just want to see it in IMAX again. Only got to see it one time in IMAX during its original release.

Moana comparisons!

Year    Film        Eq. Wed        Ratio        Final
1999    TS2        0.68         2.04        286m
2007    Enchanted    1.11         1.25        233m
2010    Tangled        0.51         2.73        299m
2011    Muppets        0.19         7.31        240m
2011    Hugo        0.22         6.32        362m
2012    Guardians    0.88         1.58        233m
2013    Frozen        1.18         1.18        334m
2014    Penguins    0.11        12.64        280m
2015    TGD        0.16         8.16        286m

Pretty basic. Just taking the ratio of Moana's Wednesday to the equivalent Wednesday and then multiplying that by the remaining gross of each film.

There's obviously range. I didn't include Arthur Christmas, because it was pulled from theaters the following Thursday. If Moana did the same, it'd end up at right about BH6's total.

It's interesting that both Pixar films predict the same total. I think both are high, though. The Muppets is interesting, because of calendar configuration.

Average of all of them: 283m

Average without Hugo: 273m

Average without Hugo & Frozen: 265m

True. It' still my favorite comic book movie and one of my favorite movies in general. Nolan just knocked that one out of the park.

I still find it funny to see a last year's film on the top 10 list of the following year (and as such 2 films of the same film world on it beside them getting released pretty accurate 1 year between them)

I saw it and loved it. Shame it never caught on.

Seems like my cup of tea.

I enjoyed Easy A, Mean Girls, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The First Time -- you know, well-written/smart coming of age drama

I absolutely loathe the bad written or cheesy ones, but when it has heart, count me in, and this one seems like it does.

Star Wars would have made 700 Million in 2016 if not for the winter vortex.

In any case, almost a quarter of ticket sales for Disney's record year came from the franchise. And it's just getting started.

Random but, has anybody seen The Edge of Seventeen?

@Christmas Baumer maybe? I think I have to wait for rental/netflix, a shame I heard about it only recently :(

Yup saw it last week - funny! Overall I liked it. I mean it's not really my cup of tea honestly and the girl is a mess but it was well made and well acted. I think if it seems like your type of movie you'll like it.

I hated Moonlight so whoever said overrated yeah, may be the most overrated movie of all time considering its meta score. It was absolutely awful, zero star trash. I guess if you make a movie about a gay black man growing up in the ghetto with a crack whore mother it's automatically every critics top choice? It was just deplorable all around and really no character development. I even liked Manchester better - at least it had funny lines amidst the tedious boredom.

I liked your post more for the first part I must say, because the second part is a bit too "hatey" for me.

I mean, obviously they poured a lot of work into Moonlight, it's just not something you enjoy that's all! No need to bash the movie!
