  1. Jojo Rabbit expands wide tomorrow! Apologies @sfran43 if you already posted this and I missed it.
  2. Finally, Parasite just barely expands wide (assuming we're still using the old BOM wide release threshold of 600).
  3. Good to hear. Her performance seems captivating going by the trailer. Is the film as epic as it looks too?
  4. In all honesty, I actually can't believe how much this is bombing worldwide. I buy that there wasn't an intense demand for this movie but at the same time I figured the return of Cameron, Linda and Arnold all together would be a bigger deal. Thought this would be a 150-350-500 kind of deal. A shame for all involved but it should be a huge red flag for the studio that this franchise needs to be laid to rest.
  5. On a $50M budget? I suppose yeah that would be a success. I'm not great with budgets and break even points and stuff though.
  6. There's one very key similarity though: nobody asked for it. There's no rooted interest in it.
  7. @baumer I take it you've read the book? If so, how is it? Anyone else who has read the book, feel free to share your thoughts too.
  8. This doesn't surprise me. I believe this film is a perfect example of one that will just hit the spot for a lot of people at this time of year.
  9. $1.16M for Joker. That's exactly what I had it pegged for. Now calling about $1.68M for today and probably just a hair over $1M for Wednesday.
  10. Precisely. Also, like T: DF, it's an unnecessary reboot/remake/sequel/what have you that no one asked for.
  11. Looking forward to this! Christian Bale pretty much pulls me into whatever he does.
  12. Thanks. I expected about a 70% drop for Joker so 71% wouldn't surprise me. I see today's number being around $1.1M.
  13. I feel bad, but everyone involved in the production should have seen the writing on the wall. Well, some of the cast probably did but figured why not take the paycheck anyway?
  14. Oof. DOA was an understatement for this random animation. It was last out of the 4 openers this weekend, bringing in $2.9M for a $1,020 PTA. A close-ish comparable is Ratchet & Clank, which released April 29, 2016 to $4.9M in 2,891 theatres for a $1,684 PTA. It's a tough, tough market for any animation studio that isn't one of the big guns.
  15. I'm really happy with the performance of this film! Earlier I commented on how it was getting no attention and suddenly it does a respectable $11.7M opening and receives an A+ cinemascore! Looking forward to getting the opportunity to see this.....if my theatre in Kamloops ever decides to bring it in. They had room for Arctic Dogs though...
  16. Well this had a week opening, which was expected. Motherless Brooklyn opened to $3,500,454 in 1,342 theatres for a $2,608 PTA. Did anyone here end up catching this over the weekend?
