lilmac
It could very well beat Wall-E's $224m gross
The Stingray
To the experts around here, 6m on a non-summer Tuesday is pretty "dope", right?
Jack Nevada
To the experts around here, 6m on a non-summer Tuesday is pretty "dope", right? According to my industry sources it is indeed "the bee's knees"
Poseidon
To the experts around here, 6m on a non-summer Tuesday is pretty "dope", right? Its tuesday is only $1,3m under Alice in Wonderland, even though that one had double Gravitys OW... Edited October 9, 2013 by Poseidon

tawasal
Like almost 11 years ago RD increased 7% on tuesday and this one does 9-10 increase, it's just awesomeness everywhere showing it's colour. And I expect it to follow RD's drops/increases for the rest of the weekdays.
Captain Craig
Has the location for the forums shifed? My saved URL returns an error, when I google the site I finally get it and the URL is different. Also, OT, yes Gravity's number rocks.

Robertron
$6.65m for an October release is nothing short of amazing. Muted stunted whatever word you want to use, it's gross is still impressive.

narniadis
Great number, a bit muted as expected due to IMAX but when dealing with these high numbers for this time of year it's awesome!
Hiccup
Good Tuesday gross. I thought it would stay flat or maybe decline slightly.
Dementeleus
Muted schmuted. Movies that open big in October (35m+) never increase on their first Tuesday: Taken 2: -28% Paranormal Activity 3: -0.5% Jack-Ass 3D: -8.9% Paranormal Activity 2: -9% Couples Retreat: -35.6% (!) High School Musical 3: -20.3% For GRAVITY to not just stay flat, but increase 10% is huge. Edited October 9, 2013 by Telemachos
Bond Bug
A new opener, IMAX, no kids movie, jumping 10% on its first tuesday? That's just great. I just wanted to compare it to "Skyfall" but that one had a very strange drop on tuesday, so it's pretty hard to find a good movie to compare. Maybe "Hunger Games", but that one came from a much bigger opening, so not convincing. But really? What is the lowest, "Gravity" could go now? 32m next weekend, and that's the absolute worst case. That would bring it close to 110m, how would it not pass 160m easily then? The question should be, how would it not easily pass $250m?
