Captain Craig
Really getting excited for this. My wife took extra notice of the standee at the theater this past Monday and began asking some questions. Not that I had many answers on it cause I've avoided spoilers. We are so in!!

Dementeleus
As a nod to George Takei, Sulu is gay. I think that's pretty cool. http://io9.gizmodo.com/sulu-is-gay-in-star-trek-beyond-and-its-not-a-big-deal-1783271909?rev=1467900775193&utm_campaign=socialflow_io9_twitter&utm_source=io9_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow

The orig actor in real life is gay so..... Big deal, ok it isn't but it's a stupid reason.

Big deal, ok it isn't but it's a stupid reason. Characters are given traits (or names) for any number of silly reasons -- the ST guys are just being transparent about this one. I think it's a nice little touch, and it certainly fits Trek's history of being progressive.

DAR
LGBT,women, minorities, hell even white men I don't care if a movie, tv show, novel or comic has all of, one of or none of these groups. I just want to have those involved tell its audience a great story. That's most important

alisson23
I hope this flop strongly here, but do great numbers around the world. MORE THAN ONE MONTH WAITING FOR WATCH IT IS AN ABSURD.

To be fair I think they expected it to flop here anyway as Trek was never major here, but still... Edited July 7, 2016 by Arlborn

Exactly, ST2 was released wide here one month later and did only $5.2M. They should have learned. ST3 was likely to be much higher. Edit: Wide release 1 month later.
