Ent
Firedeep is always pesimisstic but he has a point. Webb's Spider Man have yet to regain the kind of populariy Raimi's Spidey had. It's kinda sad to think that if Raimi had had one or two more movies, Spider man would have been the first CBM to reach the billion's mark...and this without 3D, without IMAX. As a character Spidey has lost his luster both domestic wise and abroad even if he remains popular, especially abroad. The way i see things right now, CA3 may even enter that billion's club before TASM 3/4. What irony for the most popular Marvel's property ! I really wish Spider Man would regain that kind of popularity Raimi's had and to finally reach that $1 billions' mark...
boxofficefreak
We need the poster that was "Annarchyarnold" to come spice up this thread and get the believers on the TASM bandwagon. I don't know if this cast of villains would get the general public to get this over the 300M hump but if TASM gets a proper actor (believable eddie brock) and throw in Carnage... there's no way TASM3/4 will lose out to CA3. Spillover effect from Avengers for CA2 was crazy. So only way CA3 hits 1 billion is if Avengers2 hits the same level of BO success. IM3 increased 95%WW Thor2 increased 44%WW CA2 estimated increase 85%WW.

CA2 has also had good legs and WOM - it's benefited from that as much as Avengers spillover, otherwise it would have just increased as much as TDW.
htall90
How can you predict such doom. There are still a lot of markets. And it could very well explode in China and Japan. I agree could breakout huge in China, Japan and Latin American potenially.

Rsyu
ASM did 36 mill in SK. Is it safe to say this will do much less? It's as locked as they come. If it doesn't recover this weekend it won't even pass CA: The winter soldier. The movie that came in second had just 8000 admissions so TASM2 coming in with that low number is all kinds of crap.
baumer
SK was a top 5 international market (I think) for ASM. So this decline is surprising, isn't it? Edited April 24, 2014 by baumer
Rsyu
SK was a time 5 international market (I think) for ASM. So this decline is surprising, isn't it? Yes it is. ASM and SM3 are both ranked in the top 20 admissions for foreign releases here and before IM3 came along Spiderman was the more popular SH franchise.

Very surprising. That Wed/Thur is lower than Cap 2 (which opened against Noah's 2nd week) and the Thur # is even lower than Thor 2. What kind of upcoming competition in SK does ASM2 have? What kind of upcoming competition in SK does ASM2 have? It has zero competition right now. It is being screened in almost half of the total screens and the movie that came in 2nd only has 8000 admissions. Seat saturation being at 10.8% pretty sums it up.
