The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Record opening in Philippines and India, stabilizing elsewhere

Recommended Posts

I think TASM's reception was more lukewarm. Not really hated, not really liked, just sorta there, like the first Hobbit.

Now, I wonder who's been saying that for about six months now?  What member compared the potential box office to what the Hobbit did?  :)

Rhino-Hulk is better than Robo-Rhino

That should have been the Rhino in this movie.  Not that mech.  If they can make up a story that leads to a villain's change/mutation.  They can definitely had given one to Rhino.

By the way is that fan made or official concept?  I think it could be fan made.  Concepts are usually after release of the movie.

Shouldn't we need to change bad OD in rusia cause it isn't that bad....

Btw guys we don't need to be that negative, there is still hope :P

I think if we look to this numbers rationaly we can say that it's a bit worse that TASM but mostly on par with TASM and with China it can stay flat on the first one so maby it will have better legs this time (I don't think so, but it could be) and it can keep it's head above the 700M mark.

Isn't 50% normal for this kind of movie?

Not in Germany, no. Of course, weather and holidays play a big part here, but compare it to TASM1 drops (week 2: -30%, week 3: flat) - it will be very difficult to top part 1 with a drop >50%, despite the much higher opening.

South Korea TASM2 vs TASM OW

TASM2 sunday

Admissions: 513,865

Gross: $4.26M

5-day opening week (Wed-Sun)

admissions: 1,660,104

gross: $13.59

3-day opening weekend (Fri-Sun)

admissions: 1,294,053

gross: $10.69

The amazing spider-man comparison

4 day opening week (Thur-Sun)

admissions: 1,696,133

Gross: $13M

3 day opening weekend (Fri-Sun)

Admissions: 1,423,978

Gross: $10.9M

TASM2 has slightly higher 5 day OW gross compared to TASM. 3 day weekend is on par. Admissions are a lot lower though meaning it's probably due to exchange rate fluctuations.
