We have reached the point where a 750M WW blockbuster is a flop ladies and gentleman! Welcome to Hollywood! It won't make 750M, probably will be lucky to cross 700M.
ecstasy
Sony is right now discussing a 750M WW flop at their offices. We have reached the point where a 750M WW blockbuster is a flop ladies and gentleman! Welcome to Hollywood! Well it is when they spend too much money on production. It's the balance sheet that counts really. They do have to keep that in mind when they want to make multiple movies.
bapi
Spend 440 millions and then show us something like ASM2... So WRONG!

A Marvel Fanboy
Exhibitor Relations @ERCboxoffice 33s AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 netted $67.2M in weekend #2 overseas, $132M total. It's not just bad, it's laughable performance from Spidey
A Marvel Fanboy
At this rate, even 700m WW is in jeopardy.
bapi
Can the movie be that bad? Look... I quite enjoyed both SM3 and ASM1 but this one is just bad. Really bad. And has no heart.

dashrendar44
Spend 440 millions and then show us something like ASM2... So WRONG! Seriously I don't know why that Marc Webb seems to be such a money sinker, first TASM cost more than 200M and TASM2 255M. It's certainly not the actors fee. Is closing Times Square at night or some streets to film a car chase reminiscent of SM3 cost that much? (Even if it's totally possible to shoot on location in Pittsburgh or Cleveland and make believe it was shot in the middle of Manhattan, see the Avengers) VFX are not even flawless, up to snuff and groundbreaking to justify its price tag.(OMG, the scene when CG Spidey is swinging his way to Electro's lair dodging his lightning strikes was awfully videogamey) Edited April 27, 2014 by dashrendar44
Manu Delpech
Movies are expensive, that's just the way it is, you wouldn't believe how much a simple short movie done properly costs (I'm finding out right now). Let's just stop blaming Webb, remarks on CG work have been unanimously very positive, I mean, from people who actually saw the movie. Manu Delpech
Should have released it closer to summer, rather than closer to Cap America.

kayumanggi
I didn´t open in France, Brazil, China. Am I missing any major market? 10 M from my country. Yay!
Sam
Should have released it closer to summer, rather than closer to Cap America.Well, Sony certainly doesn't think that Cap is competition. Why would they? And Cap is already in its fifth week OS, so not exactly competition to Spidey right now either.
