Jonwo
The early reviews are not very good. Yeah, I see a trainwreck coming. Another sign is they are opening it in early October.October is a dumping ground for Family films. If you have a lot of confidence in a Family film, you open it in June or July for the Summer kids audience, or November and December for the Holidays. October is great for Horror films, but you want to avoid it for family films. Sony has had success with animated films in late September and Disney had a moderate success last year with Alexander and the Horrible, Terrible, No Good Bad Day and Warner Bros are releasing Storks, Lego Ninjago and Scooby Doo in that slot as well but I agree Pan has been dumped by WB and opening a week after The Martian isn't going to help things either.

RichWS
I know I saw the 2003 Peter Pan. Can't recall a single moment of it.
DAR
I know it's not the most "culturally sensitive" version out there but I grew up with the Disney cartoon and that one will always be closest to my heart. Plus it has the best Captain Hook
Mojoguy
Being a prequel is going to kill this movie. The public is absolutely SICK of prequel films.

DeeCee
It's also school holidays in most of the country. Pixels increased 28% and a local film, Oddball, about a dog that protects penguins increased 82%.

AJG
What was the budget of this? I'm sensing a mega bomb. $350Mil. Jackman's beard doesn't come cheap.
pieman
I was surprised by how much I liked it. A lot of it doesn't work; the use of Smells Like Teen Spirit in one scene, Hugh Jackman is awful and incredibly hammy but not in an amusing way, and Garrett Hedland is clearly attempting his best Hans Solo/Indiana Jones imitation but visually it is stunning and at times a lot of fun. babz06
What was the budget of this? I'm sensing a mega bomb. Reportedly 150m, not including P&A. This should do around 60-65m in the states, maybe more if its lucky. So once again depending on OS audiences to cover the budget.
