Lol, I've never really joined in on the constant DC/Nolan vs. Marvel shit but whatever.

 

Iron Man 3 is a much better made movie even though I'm not a fan.

 

Man of Steel is just a really badly written and poorly directed movie. The first 2/3rds of the movie is really bland and boring paced drama with repetitive blunt on the nose expository dialogue and themes.  The final act is nonstop, loud, over the top shlock that puts Transformers 3's finale to shame.  It really does give off that "every image is so dense, there are so many things going on" George Lucas vibe.  As for all the innocent civilian deaths in the movie everyone always bitches about, I highly doubt nearly as many people would be talking about that if the paper thin story and characters were engaging because its the least of the film's problems.
