Empire
I think it'll take a lot to take this oscar from LEGO now I don't see why since HTTYD2 was better.
AniNate
Lego has the advantage in both box office and reviews. Unless BH6 breaks out, it should be going to Lego.
Jake Gittes
I actually think Princess Kaguya is #2 right now because in addition to critical acclaim it's likely the last chance they have to give Ghibli its much-deserved second Oscar and Isao Takahata his first and only one. I think it has much more of a chance against Lego than The Wind Rises did against Frozen. 1. Lego 2. Kaguya 3. HTTYD2 4. Big Hero 6 5. Boxtrolls Edited November 4, 2014 by Jake Gittes
Mojoguy
The Academy shortlist has been announced. We should easily be able to get five nominees again this year. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed the 20 films that have submitted for this season's best animated picture Oscar. The films in contention, if they qualify, include: “Big Hero 6” “The Book of Life” “The Boxtrolls” “Cheatin’” “Giovanni’s Island” “Henry & Me” “The Hero of Color City” “How to Train Your Dragon 2” “Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart” “Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return” “The Lego Movie” “Minuscule – Valley of the Lost Ants” “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” “Penguins of Madagascar” “The Pirate Fairy” “Planes: Fire & Rescue” “Rio 2” “Rocks in My Pockets” “Song of the Sea” “The Tale of the Princess Kaguya” http://www.hitfix.com/in-contention/big-hero-6-and-boxtrolls-lead-oscars-official-20-best-animated-picture-contenders Edited November 5, 2014 by Mojoguy
AniNate
Looks like it may be a dead heat for that final spot between Boxtrolls, BH6 and BoL
Ezen Baklattan
BH6 should still get it. Unless SotS gets really good buzz, it looks like it really will be LEGO's to lose.
Blankments
LEGO, as still the best Hollywood film of the year, should win but I still fear for its loss
PatrickvD
Lego Movie deserves to win from what I've seen so far. If not Lego then something independent. We'll see.
CloneWars
I've seen BH6. It won't win. No chance. This looks like LEGO has it locked up.
AniNate
Yeah, BH6 isn't winning, but it should be nominated.
GuardiaStar
Big Hero 6 is in a lock for this. I loved the Lego Movie, but this movie has absolutely surpassed that on so many levels. I still love both, I enjoyed BH6 more. Big Hero 6 is worthy of the Oscar imo.
AniNate
You shouldn't say "lock" for something based solely on personal opinion. The reviews aren't as good, and in all likelihood it's not going to surpass Lego in revenue either.

I still love both, I enjoyed BH6 more. Big Hero 6 is worthy of the Oscar imo. Sorry, but I felt BH6 was pretty generic. And, I think the Academy will feel the same as well come awards time.

GuardiaStar
The average rating is low for Big Hero 6. If we look at RT, critics: 91%, user: 94%IMDB: 8.4/10 I don't know what you mean by being low? Because that doesn't look low to me at all. I enjoyed it nonetheless. Ethan Hunt
Granted I haven't seen any other animations this year I find it hard to believe The Lego Movie deserves to win with what I've heard about HTTYD 2 and BH6. Then again I might change my mind once I've seen those two.
