Friday Box Office: Easy #1'The Other Woman' (Fox - 3205 runs) hits the G spot. $9.5M opener for $25M wkd. Cost $40M.

Like most of us have been saying, The Quiet Ones has been getting far less buzz than Oculus, so no surprise at the terrible numbers it's putting up.

 

And yes, CATWS should be making more than 14M off of a 4.4 Friday.

 

And speaking of Cap, you'd expect him to take a big hit next weekend when Spidey comes out.  He'll have a much bigger theater count loss than this week. But thanks to Haunted House and Transcendence both putting up pitiful numbers, maybe Spidey will take a few thousand theaters from those 2 instead of Cap.

Agreed, the bad box office of Transcendence, Haunted House, Brick Mansions, The Quiet Ones etc should make for relatively low theater drops for Cap and probably Heaven and Rio as well over the next two weeks.

It does sound really similar, but with just older people in the plot. 

 

However, like a lot of movies, it is similar to another, but not the same.

That weekend projection for Tow is low. Are they expiring it to drop today? Id think it should go up at least 10%. And that would make it closer to 27.

You know what? It just feels good to know, that the audiences still decide the demand. And hollywood, there is demand for womens films. So why don't you give them some? Only because some ridiculously expensive Heigl Romcoms flopped?

There are other girls in hollywood.

 

I mean, look at 2011. We had Friends with benefits, No strings attached, Crazy Stupid Love, Just go with it, Bridesmaids, New Year's Eve.

They all made a lot, lot, lot of money.

Where were those movies in 2013? "The Heat" was what came closest to a girls movie.

 

And now? 2014? We have "The other women", "Walk of Shame" and "Blenden" within a month. That's just poor scheduling.

Moderately surprised for ToW, but I guess it's been a while since there was a big profile rom-com. Actually, is it even a rom-com? I lazily assumed that because it's aimed at women, but have no idea what the plot is.
