true so a 150M movie was not a good idea from the word go lol

Although I thought the budget was $120 million, still, that is an amount I consider too high.  If the budget was about $70 million instead, using some additional tax credits for filming, I would find that more acceptable.

As for a campy Power Rangers movie, I keep thinking of that scene where the Akibarangers meet the "Powerful Rangers."  Akibaranger is an "officially unofficial" sentai from Toei.

Collider on october 2015 said the budget was at $35M range

A final exclusive detail we have for you today is the budget of the film, one which is reported to be in the $35 million range.

Forbes on december 2015 said was $75M

And they may well have a new franchise on their hands with Power Rangers, especially as they are giving the X-Men like film an X-Men-like $75m budget.

IMDB says $120M

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3717490/

WTF. Until the release date the budget will be at $300M

120M seems believable to me. 35M is impossible. 75M seems too low considering we know they will show the giant robots.

Is Japan really going to be that big for this?  I mean, I've said before here: it is not a Super Sentai movie.  They are not the heroes people in Japan grew up with.  And fans in Japan get things like the Zyuohger and Gokaiger episode in Super Sentai,.  They may not be enthusiastic about a team based solely on Zyuranger from nearly 25 years ago and not a more recent Super Sentai.

What language were you speaking here anyway? I have no idea what you're talking about, not at all...

Anyways, my father just sent me a text asking me if I have seen the new Power Rangers trailer lol

Lionsgate needs this to be their Transformers really badly.

Good luck with that.

I can see it doing notable numbers in its opening weekend and drop like a rock after that. But this isn't going to be remembered in five years.

This Wikia page does a great job explaining Super Sentai's history.  Just to let you know the basics: it goes back 40 years, and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is based off the 16th series, Zyuranger, and the 1993 show uses its footage.  Toei, the Japanese TV producer of those Super Sentai shows, has an ownership stake in Power Rangers, because it is their footage being used for it.  However, for the most part, Toei is rarely mentioned in promotional materials used for Power Rangers.  For a interesting fun fact, check out the history for "Battle Fever J."  There was a famous comic book company involved in that production, that is well-known around this forum.

Power Rangers movies are not expected to be remembered in five years.   If they cater to nostalgia to pay for themselves and if they sell toys, they have done their job.

I'm not really impressed with this teaser at all, BUT I have to admit that the reaction has been pretty much positive everywhere.

Trailer already at 4 million views in less than 24 hours. I think people are liking it. I'll watch it, too. Budget is obviously between 120-150 million. I mean, they have aliens, powers, fights, giant robots and so on.

If the robots are anything like Pacific Rim, I'll watch this movie 3 times. XD
