Weekend Numbers (May 9-11) Neighbors 51.1 ASM2 37.2

Recommended Posts

With Godzilla and DOFP hitting back to back there's still a slight chance for TASM2 to miss 200. God that would be beyond epic,

Especially if (when) both of those films breakout big time.

woweeeeeee.... that SOTM 2 in BSG is gonna go down to the wire.....

1. Neighbours > 40m YES (tick)

2. Neighbours > TASM 2 YES (tick)

3. Neighbours > 2m thurs YES (tick)

4. TASM 2 > 61.9% drop Very Likely No (tick) ~ looks like the dip will be around 60% to 61% at this point.

5. TASM 2 > 55% increase on Sat ~ unknown (with 15.7m sat and 10.1m Fri we get exactly 55%..... it's on the fence essentially)

TASM2 numbers of friday and saturday are a little lower than TTDW's ones at the same point.  They will both have a 36.5M weekend and will be nearly on par domestic gross wise (maybe at $2M at best from each other).

They both have vaccations like Memorial day and Thanksgiving as well as competition on their 2nd, 3rd and 4th weekend (Catching Fire, Frozen adn Hobit2 for TTDW and Gozzilla, DOFP and Maleficent for TASM2).

It will be interresting to have a daily breakdown from now on between TTDW and TASM2.

If ever TASM2 doesn't finish on top, despite having the biggest OW, then all, hell will break lose at Sony.

It's one thing to finish under the stellar CAWTS with its critical and warm reception.  It's another to finish under TTDW as it will defintely seal the perception that every single solo trilogy of marvel studios are now even more popular than Spidey at home considering that they are still on the rise and will definitely obliterate TASM3 on their last sequel if Sony doesn't do something dratsic to stop the bleeding and recover some of Spidey former glory...

But I defintely think it's already too late for that last installment..no goodwill left to exploit there as Spidey is taking slowly but surely backseat on the domestic market.
