Planes - 2.32 (+25%)

Sex Tape - 1.96 (+27%)

Transformers - 1.43 (+23%)

Well that is at least a little better for Apes.

Saw Purge yesterday and it got a really boisterous audience reaction.  People were yelling, hooting and hollering and really getting into the movie.

 

Thought the "on the streets" setting worked really well,

but the whole auction thing was just too ridiculous.

Some nice increases - Apes continues to play well, crossing 150 today and the first films gross potentially by this Sunday.

Saw Purge yesterday and it got a really boisterous audience reaction.  People were yelling, hooting and hollering and really getting into the movie.

Yeah, there were great reactions from my theater audience when I went to see the Purge. People love to imagine what they would do in that kind of situation from the movie.

Too bad Sex tape opened so softly.  It's really quite funny and I think it might have good legs.

Nice numbers for nearly everything. Especially Purge 2 is really surprising and considering this summer has been quite weak box office-wise, it's nice to see something overperform. And with TF4 I still think it could eventually get "Paramounted" to $250m.

Yes.  The first Purge dropped almost 20% on its first Tuesday.  This is a huge improvement.
