Fake
On second thought, GOTG could do well above 25m, if Exp3 disappoints. I could see.... Thur 4.5 (-6%) Fri 8.0 (+78%) Sat 11.5 (+43%) Sun 8.0 (-30%) 27.5M weekend, 225M cume If that materializes, the required multiplier for 300m would be 3.73x which is not too difficult.
Jay Beezy
I don't get the chaos - the higher the Tuesday bump the bigger the Wednesday fall - this has been going on for several years now. Openers always have bigger Wednesday falls than holdovers and TMNT opened big and is following the trend of big films much like Guardians did last week. It's not going to nosedive 65% and more than likely won't drop even 60%. And I told everyone to take a bigger Wednesday fall into account due to LBC opening midweek. Logic folks, seriously it takes then joy entry out of following this if there's constant lows and highs over normal things. When turtles drops another 30% on Thursday then you might have reason to swoon.Actually GOTG had a bigger Tuesday bump and it ended up dropping less than TMNT on Wednesday. Punishment
Looks like the Captain will probably take over first place starting with Friday in the daily tracking. Should be fun watching Guardians vs Captain America until Mockingjay gets here. Edited August 14, 2014 by Punishment

It will still benefit from better weekdays next week and will likely match Caps 3 weekend this weekend. Not to mention, it'll get a nice Labor Day bump and easily crush Caps 5th weekend tally.

Punishment
Do you mean for the Friday - Monday Eastern... heightened numbers or the ones later on as well? Yea, the daily tracking starting with Friday; Guardians has a big enough lead in total gross to take it to #1 for the summer.
JohnnyGossamer
Well, if it truly follows Caps, and with the inflated Labor Day weekend, should finish around $290M DOM.

JohnnyGossamer
Just say $300M+. I hope so. But, unless the holds are extraordinary starting this weekend and on through Labor Day weekend, I don't see it.
narniadis
I fail to see how a few percentage points means that OMG it's gonna have bad legs. Wednesday drops are NOT the baremetor for these things. Baumer has been arguing the same thing all summer and y'all still don't get it.
