Zach Levi as Shazam looks like the best casting in the DCEU thus far

Well that was a complete shock ... so Shazam & Pikachu tv spots today during the games.  Plus, should be getting a full trailer on the 22nd.

 

Man, I loved the call back to Man of Steel with that punch in the sky over the city and I had a huge grin during the beer and lair scenes.

You triple the production budget and your movie is almost always in the black. If $100 mil is the actual budget it will need far less than $400-$450 to break even.

It's a DC movie. It needs 600+ to break even.

Horror director that knows how to work on a tight budget, no big name actors so the average salary is probably in the six figures and probably only using VFX when needed. I still think the budget will be 100 million but wouldn't be surprised if it ends at 90 million. Man of Steel and BvS had overblown budgets and little supervision.

Well, to be fair, their combined box office will probably barely surpass Aquaman's worldwide tally (now watch all three of them do 600+ )

No? Even with current, poorly sourced estimates. (100, 50, 80). We don't even know the budget for Aquaman, first similar rumor was $160M. And we only have a vague idea about the final cost of BoP, obviously.

 

But Shazam+Joker will almost certainly cost less than Captain Marvel.

Wonder Woman 120-150 million budget

Aquaman- 160-200

 

According to Wikipedia those are the rough estimates. But let's say they spend 100 million on Shazam, 80 million of BoP and 50 million Joker I say that's pretty good right there.

 

Overblown budgets was one of the biggest issues early in the DCEU.

BoP is about 62 million

And I think Joker is 50 million
