Unlike those guys I kinda have a degree of respect for Perry. The man was homeless and built an empire (built on exploiting stereotypes, and followers of the Christian faith, but still).

There's quite a few examples of the rags to riches stories (A lot of them never really emphasize the importance of the mere fact of getting lucky and assistance from others), but I don't respect everyone who has it.

There are plenty of people in the Hollywood business who started off fairly small and got large, but when you get big for creating bad content that's not only poor quality but hinders progress in getting past social stereotypes I can't give much respect.

Nicolas Cage actually puts me off seeing films.

I find him severely unattractive and a painfully wooden actor.

He's a great actor, who can often make a film entertaining just by his presence.

However I've been told that he looks and acts bored in Left Behind, which suggest that he probably didn't want to be in the film.

I don't think I've ever seen Cage described as wooden before.

The only thing wooden about him is the scenery he tends to chew.  He's an excellent actor who sometimes misjudges and goes way off the rails but he's rarely not interesting even if it's in a train wreck NOT THE BEES way.

He's made so many dreadful movies over the past few years for the paycheck how could he have not paid back the IRS yet?  I thought he owed about $10-15m.  He sold houses, cars and did about a dozen crappy movies - it should be done or near done by now.

Yeah, but all the movies he is in now are getting worse and worse(except for Joe) and cheaper and cheaper.  He isn't going to get paid the amount he really needs to get paid doing all these mega shitty movies.

He probably lives above his means, like so many other stars. It's called 'rich broke'. I dont think Cage will ever be really out of debt.

Can t blame Cage, when Hollywood is ready to give you 20 m a movie, it must be very difficult to resist the temptations that come from those insane amounts.

Cage went batshit crazy with it though and he has a very tough time to recover.

Indeed, don't know if he was an A-list actor.  Last time I remember him being in a good movie previously was National Treasure.

When you buy shit like million dollar crystallized bear skulls, it can be very easy for me to blame Cage.

He was in Joe earlier this year which was a solid movie.

Not just stars, but also former athletes and so on.  They just like any other person who don't know much about personal finance and responsibilities.

I think he was in the late 90's.  His trifecta of The Rock, Con Air, and Face/Off had him as a bankable action lead.  Those were the 3 movies he made after he won his Oscar too.
