Watching Gone Girl last weekend. After it ended, It was surprising how much people were talking about it! Hadn't heard chatter about a movie like this one in a long time. Not about how good or bad it was, but how disturbing and shocking Gone Girl was. The numerous twists and turns were incredible. I even knew about some of these twists and turns, I was spoiled reading spot spoilers, even than I was closing my eyes and picking my jaw up off the ground. Gone Girl is pretty freaking crazy, and people are going to see it b/c they've heard how crazy and twisted it is. I've noticed this a lot on facebook and other forums I've read.

If someone would have told me a year ago that TASM2 would be the fourth best SH film WORLDWIDE in 2014, I would have reacted like this:

Frankly if that movie didn't have the Spidey brand behind it, it would be crashed and burned a lot harder...

I'm pretty impressed with October so far:

Month-to-Date Comparison

October 1–19 Year Total Gross Change Movies Avg. #1 Movie Gross % of Total 2014 $521.2 +19.9% 174 $3.0 Gone Girl $107.1 20.5% 2013 $434.8 -0.9% 212 $2.1 Gravity $162.2 37.3% 2012 $438.8 +30.4% 201 $2.2 Taken 2 $96.9 22.1% 2011 $336.6 -17.5% 180 $1.9 Real Steel $54.9 16.3% 2010 $407.8 -8.2% 188 $2.2 The Social Network $64.1 15.7% 2009 $444.1 +11.5% 189 $2.3 Couples Retreat $63.7 14.3% 2008 $398.3 +31.6% 189 $2.1 Beverly Hills Chihuahua $69.3 17.4% 2007 $302.7 -11.8% 196 $1.5 The Game Plan $40.5 13.4% 2006 $343.1 +2.0% 181 $1.9 The Departed $63.5 18.5% 2005 $336.2 -14.7% 183 $1.8 Flightplan $36.5 10.8% 2004 $394.0 -2.9% 183 $2.2 Shark Tale $120.7 30.6% 2003 $405.9 +9.6% 204 $2.0 School of Rock $54.9 13.5% 2002 $370.3 +31.2% 210 $1.8 Red Dragon $75.7 20.5% 2001 $282.3 +9.0% 100 $2.8 Training Day $50.8 18.0% 2000 $259.0 - 102 $2.5 Meet the Parents $64.7 25.0%

Adjusted, after spending the first two weeks ahead of 2003, it's now behind, and about equal with 2002 and 2004. Not that It was never going to keep up, but it's still pretty good.

a new record?
