miketheavenger
Nice increases. IMO it's still too soon to make a precise prediction for MJ1's total though. We'll know more after this weekend.

cory
2014's nowhere near as bad as 2011. It's better than 2008 actually (when TDK, Iron Man, and IJ4 pulled most of the weight) With BH6, MJ1, and BOTFA, we could have 12 $200m movies which is only 1 less than last year (adjusted the record is 14, from a few different years)
WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot
60M is way too high. I'm thinking mid-30s. Ah yeah... I see the Miller's comparison. So, maybe $37-40 million for the five day more reasonable for HB2... Really interested to see how Penguins fares.

Mattrek
Someone also suggested Anchorman 2: 2.3M preview, 39M 5-day If it follows that it wouldn't hit 30m for the 5 day. Even though it's a different season I think Tammy will end up being a very close comparison.

The Panda
Until recently, I would've said Mockingjay Part 2 would've topped the franchise but isn't it weird for it to just randomly have a movie that drops to around 300M for no reason whatsoever and be surrounded by movies that grossed over 400M DOM? I think the audience is obviously there, CF obviously didn't deter them. I think that Mockingjay part 2 will have to be great in quality, have premium screens like IMAX (and maybe 3d), and actually have a marketing campaign

Melvin Frohike
BH6 = 220M?? That appears to be where it is currently headed unless it develops late legs. That's always possible because for comparison Frozen took even longer than this for its extraordinary legs to show up. Don't get me wrong, Big Hero 6 won't have legs anywhere near that good, but Frozen's weren't any better at the same point, so given the general audience reaction there is still a chance that Big Hero 6 could do even better than it has been doing. At this point the movie underperforming--by any reasonable standard--seems very unlikely, although it will face a test against direct competition this Thanksgiving weekend.
