Monday #'s: Penguins 0.811M, Interstellar 0.84M, Horrible Bosses 1.10M, Big Hero 6 0.613M, THG MJ1 2.64M

Terrible Monday numbers for Penguins, HB2, and DADT.  Penguins will be lucky to get to about 70.  HB2 will end up in the 40s.  Dumb decision for Penguins to come out in late November while Big Hero 6 was tearing it up.

You came to all of those conclusions based on a Monday # the weekend after Thanksgiving? LOL I can't with you.

It's been playing here since May. The theater just didn't want to dump it yet. The same for Rio 2 to a lesser extent.

LMFAO what is this? This is a budget theater, right? An overwhelming number of those movies are looonnnnggg gone.

Interstellar, Gone Girl and Fury are all having pretty good and leggy runs. The October timeframe seems to be a good time to release more adult targeted dramas by the looks of it, we have already seen Argo and Gravity have long runs in previous years after an October release.

if Penguins goes up 325% on Friday, it's Friday # would be 3.44.  7.22 Sat.  4.20 Sunday.  14.86 weekend.  53.54 12 day total.  (-42%).  expansion worldwide.  $132 million budget.  Dec 8th - Dec 11th should average 0.5 million per day.  55.54 16-day total.  2.22 Friday, 4.88 Saturday, 2.90 Sunday.  10 Million 3rd weekend.  (-33%)  65.54 19-day total.  Penguins 4th weekend will face against Annie, The Hobbit, and Night at the Museum.  It should still be at over 3,000 locations.  somewhere around 3,150 locations.   by New Years day it should still be at over 2,000 locations.  Until Paddington comes out, it should be looking at roughly 750K per day over the holidays.  80% chance it hits 100M.

There's nothing wrong with Penguins' number. It basically only attracts kids (and dumb ones, too...), so an 85% drop from Sunday is perfectly normal. If 100M was reachable yeasterday, it's reachable today.
