Nolan always appear high on lists because he's one of the few directors that can please both casual and more artsy audience.

I don't know why everyone is so surprised about Interstellar being number 1.

 

I'm not. I was just hoping it would be #3 or #4. On my list of the best films of 2014, it was #6

This makes me mad I put The Immigrant as #1 to try and get it on the list and Boyhood at 2. I should have just given my normal list. Nolanites can thank me I guess.

Nolan always appears high on lists because his movies are comfort food for the internet's prime demographic

 

Most of them are quite good, too. But being good doesn't mean much when it comes to internet rankings
