I saw Taken 3 last night. Horrible yet entertaining. The series is great and barring crap legs, this should hit 100M+.

It's still amazing to me that Unbroken has become a 100 million dollar plus hit. That, along Maleficent's smashing success has made these past 12 months truly stellar for Jolie's overall clout in Hollywood. Now, if only she made that SALT sequel... :-( Seriously, I am dying to see where the plot was shaping up to go after the open end of the first one...but it seems like she's already moved on...

Fish and I were wondering yesterday, has there ever been another actor to have two 100m+ hits in one year, where they acted in one and directed the other (but didn't cast themselves)? Total Slayage.

It's going to make a lot more too. It opens in Germany and South Korea in 2 weeks, the UK in 3 weeks, France in 5 weeks, and in China in 7 weeks.

 

 

Don't worry, with all those markets still to come, it'll breeze past 500M, and 600 is definitely still a possibility.

Actuals should be interesting for Taken 3, an increase from estimates could move it into the #1 Jan opening, but a small decrease could drop it to #3. Very tight range there.

Maybe more than the January OW record possibly. MLK 4 day OW is a much bigger possibility. Especially considering that it has IMAX to goose the take a bit.
