Each Oscars should have an award for the best film from 25 years ago.  What film from 1989 has stood the test of time?

 

EW did a feature on this back in early 2009, with re-votes for the ceremonies from five, ten, and fifteen years earlier (so, the awards for the films of 1993, 1998, and 2003).

 

Of the films that were nominated for Picture in '89, I'm guessing that it would either be Dead Poets Society or Born on the Fourth of July. However, if they were to expand it beyond the movies that were nominated, Do the Right Thing would have to be in the conversation.
