kitik
A Most Violent Year is supposed to be expanding wide too, but there is no number for it yet. (It will be over 600 though.) Ouch for Blackhat. Cake losing theaters in week 2 also. lilmac
OMG Hobbit had one of the best drops of the day! Someone get on the horn and call John Marston! Where did the term "horn" originate?
Frozen
Where did the term "horn" originate? The Hobbit, of course.

TalismanRing
So the drop was pretty good especially in comparison to everything else. Yeah but it had a much smaller Tues bump than all the others. My guess is because the snowstorm hit the NorthEast the hardest and geographically AS's strongest area in the South so it didn't as much of a benefit from snow day off. MonstersandRoy
Game of Thrones 205 IMAX screens? Can that make top 10 with packed out shows? Hobbit's been having horrible theater drops despite decent enough averages $. God knows how Into the Woods is still playing on nearly double.
Melvin Frohike
Well let's ask Rocket Raccoon and Tony Stark about the sharp sting of Katniss' arrow after she's been doubted. Point taken, although I'm sure that Stark was consoled by his $350M advantage WW. This looks more like the aftermath of Elsa literally blowing past him WW.

Ozymandias
My theater is getting A Most Violent Year but not Black Sea. Black Sea sounds a lot more fun.

BK007
Wow! After just one week Cake is losing over 100 of it's theaters. So much for Aniston's fake Oscar hype. Just proves that even "Oscar engineering" will not convince anyone. I mean, really, they hire people to try snag them nominations or wins, but it boils down to whether you're good or not either compared to the competition. Similar to how moviegoers have rejected various people wrapped up and presented as stars.
Plain Old Tele
...but it boils down to whether you're good or not either compared to the competition. Kinda, but I think it more boils down to how well liked your character is, and how well-spun your Oscar-story marketing is. (Though you do need to be good as well.) Moviedweeb
A Most Violent Year and Black Sea expanding to my theater this weekend. Nice. A Most Violent Year is the one of my favorites from last year. Great, understated film. Black Sea is flawed but solid entertainment and worth a trip to the theaters especially in January.
