Saturday numbers RTH: AS 16.8 pg 9

Recommended Posts

To me this seems like The Avengers first two weeks.

Massive opening 10 days and the it came back down to earth as the buzz slows down.

However MJ is still going down.

The numbers are still huge and it will easily gross another 100 million after this weekend.

Lol watch AS make $29 million this weekend then end up making like $30 million or something ridiculous next weekend and suddenly everyone will jump right back on the wagon.

I'd expect something like that next next week.

That is a very impressive number for Game Of Thrones, I can already see WB and HBO giving the green ligth to a feature film adaptation  :)

They really should pursue it, given the popularity and it's already cinematic as it is. The potential next big movie franchise

Oh totally, a Theatrical Series Finale and then a Robert Rebellion prequel would be awesome.

It would have to span like 3 LOTR trilogies to be any good.

And G.R.R.M. would have to, you know, finish writing it...

NEVER HAPPENING

The premise of The Loft alone (a "whodunit" centered around five dudes who share a single loft just for when they want to cheat on their respective spouses) is really repugnant. No wonder it sat on the shelf for so long.

How does a premise like that even get greenlit in the first place?

The base audience for the movie (conservatives/red state/rural males) saw it in huge numbers for the first 2 weekends. Outside that demographic, it probably doesn't have huge appeal in other parts/demographics of the country. It is basically going to come back to reality now with 50% drops every weekend from now on.

And saved.
