From what I've heard, if I wasn't on the forums, I'd think FSoG flopped hard.  I have yet to see one non mocking comment on fb and every girl I've talked to about this film said she had no plans of seeing it.  It could be an age thing though... Is FSoG skewing much older than the average film?

50SOG's biggest audience is lonely housewives.

I am older (older than Baumer, Tele,...) and female.

I would watch it, if it would show the life-style in not such a .... wrong way. So I am very much not interested in it.

I have absolute no problem with R rated or porn or BDSM or multi-partner or whatever sex involved in general beside:

rape shown as positive, underage like e.g. 17y paired with someone over ~23-25y old,..., manipulated or forced into the situation and so on.

Asking about the age was more about figuring out who the target audience is. It was (mostly) not a dig at the movie, its just generally the target audience seems more straightforward to me.

I've heard this from about 4 or 5 other people.

3RD UPDATE, SATURDAY AM: If Fifty Shades Of Grey handcuffs Universal’s very early international weekend estimate of $158.3M, it will become the studio’s 2nd biggest offshore opening frame ever, just behind Fast & Furious 6’s $160.3M. Outside sources whisper that it is likely to climax even higher than that for this five-day session. It is expected to be far-and-away the biggest opening weekend of all-time for an R-rated film overseas, whipping previous title holder The Matrix Revolutionsat $117M.
