Weekend Estimates: TLR - 13.5M; Furious 7 - 60.5M; Home - 19M [F7 - 63M OD in China!]

Nicholas Sparks is still riding off of the success of The Notebook, (the movie made over $80M domestic, and over $90M in Dvd/Blueray sales since 2005) but that had more to do with the 4 main actors chemistry than his book. I liked the movie way more than the book.

And Dear John had Channing Potato and Amanda S. who were both big names when that movie came out.

Nothing wrong with being a working actor. :)

I heard Michelle Monaghan was guess starring in a future Lab Rats episode, is this right?

Of course! After all, you work closely with someone who has gone from a Showtime series where he shot borderline-pornographic sex scenes almost every other week to an innocent and squeaky clean Disney Channel series within the span of a decade!

Furious 7 has considerable female appeal compared to most major tentpoles (51% male/49% female over OW), so it's no surprise Longest Ride won't do especially well this weekend. Unfriended and Paul Blart 2 are poised to do well due to minimal competition (more so for Blart... no family comedies until June 19th)

I'll have to talk to Chris and Bryan to make sure this doesn't happen.

Working actor, man, working actor. (Or in Hal's case, working actor/standup/musician/radio host/director/tech-nerd.)

Movies Alda fanboys want.

The Four Seasons (reboot)

The West Wing (continuation of tv series funded by Kickstarter)

MASH (reboot with Alda playing Henry Blake in Afghanistan)

I'd contribute to a West Wing movie but only if Sorkin was writing the script.

True.

I'm expecting a $50-55 million OW. Its 2nd weekend drop should be solid for a horror due to the pre-Avengers 2 purge (50-55%). Then it'll plummet 70-80% from May 1st on.

$54 million OW

$110 million DOM total

No way it opens that high. Maybe 30M or so.

Universal opened to The Purge to $34 million, and that had a fraction of the trailer views and buzz.

Where are you seeing buzz for Unfriended? The Purge had a lot of TV advertisements as well, I haven't seen many for Unfriended yet.

It's social media mostly.

And I'm also expecting a debut around 27-33M.

LOL I think I would rather be eaten alive by a pile of ants than see Unfriended on opening night with what will certainly be an auditorium packed with obnoxious teenagers. I still remember seeing Disturbia on opening night 8 years ago and at one point during one the "jump" scenes some guy screamed out loud "OH MY GOD DID YOU SEE THAT?"

Being rated R, I can't say that being case.

Secondly, Disturbia is amazing

James Marsden has 4 movies coming out in 2015. He's getting paid. Now Michelle on the other hand ...

Really? I like him a lot as an actor. And he's so pretty to look at so that doesn't hurt either.

Any of those 4 interesting?

Nope.

And filmlover is right. Unfinished Business is one of them.
